Collective Memory Lane explores the intricate process of how the human mind associates images of one's hometown through the lens of memory. This project invites participants to engage in a conversation with an artist, during which they are prompted to visually depict their hometown. As the dialogue unfolds, both the participant and the artist independently create their own representations based on the shared conversation. Separated by a wall, the artist's drawing remains hidden from the participant's view throughout the session. The culmination of the experience comes when the artist and participants compare their drawings, unveiling the fascinating diversities and unique perspectives that emerge from the intimate exchange.

It invites viewers to embark on an introspective journey, where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur, encouraging a collective reimagination of the landscapes that shape our shared sense of belonging.

In this series of works, drawing sessions are expanded from individual participants to groups of people to create works together. For example, in the video, the participant shares memories about her beloved son who passed away during the HIV pandemic in NYC and the group of people beside the participant and I listened to our conversation and then they recreated a body of work. The intent of the project shares how individual memory is transformed into new form by public level and also through the process, what different conditions are occurring among the group of people to define one's memory.

Paul in Wonderland is a captivating piece from my series of interview projects with random musical instrument sellers on Craigslist. In this local community, there is a vibrant trade of musical instruments, and Paul, who is selling his late wife's old keyboard, provides a unique perspective on the instrument's history. Through this project, it becomes evident how the human mind imbues personal ideas onto objects, transforming them into objects of unconditional significance.
